First impressions: Prestige Garage Doors on aluminium garage door design

Any Colour you like
One of the biggest advantages of gates and garage doors constructed entirely from an aluminium frame and cladding, is that it can then be fully powdercoated in any of hundreds of colours to create one uniform colour. With this colour freedom, homeowners and architects can then match the garage door to the gate, and also to the front door or joinery to create design continuity and a beautiful finished result – and not just on the outside. Because the entire door is powdercoated, the inside of the door will also look much neater and more presentable, which is ideal for garages that do double function as rumpus rooms and additional living areas.

And for people considering cedar cladding for their garage door or gate, the alternative of powder-coating aluminium cladding to look like cedar is worth noting. You can achieve the great-looking aesthetics of cedar, but with no maintenance. Taking care of this cedar-style aluminium is as easy as washing your car, with no re-staining needed.

Altec Garage Doors and Gate
For Yaakov Broide, the Altec Garage Door and Gate represent a very high standard of durability and precision. “It needs to be very accurate and precise because if it is not, you will see it straight away. You cannot make a mistake of 1mm or 2mm – you will see it.” This makes Altec Garage Doors and Gates ideal for people who want a modern, clean design, but with a point of difference to the other flat-panelled garage doors that are currently popular in the New Zealand market, due to the opportunity to get creative with negative detailing, such as creating brick-style panelling. This style is also one that suits both garage doors, gates and can even be supplied on both fence panels and front doors, so it can be used to create continuity and a sense of class throughout a property.

Prestige Doors and Gates specialise in aluminium due to the fact that with this material you avoid the drama of rust and by extension any concerns about the door getting weak or needing to be replaced. Ben says this can make it a popular material in coastal areas, where the wind brings salt water in, often resulting in rust damage for steel doors or gates.

So if you want a garage door or gate with long lasting high-end design appeal without the hassle of regular maintenance, Prestige Doors and Gates are experts in working with aluminium and the design options of this material are limited only by your imagination.
